Lovers' Leap

LOCATION: St .Elizabeth

Lovers' leap has one of the most beautiful scenic of the Caribbean sea overlooking parts of Alligator pond and Rocky point to the east and treasure beach to the west. It is well known for its beautiful garden, gazebos, restaurant and hiking trail down to the bottom of the cliff. It is ideal for relaxation and comfort from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life, perfect for couples, groups or events.

The beauty spot known as Lovers' Leap emerges where the Santa Cruz mountains come to an abrupt end at Jamaica's south coast, exposing a 1,700ft vertical drop down to the waves crashing on Cutlass Bay below. The lookout provides a fantastic vantage point to look for miles out to the Caribbean Sea. Along the coast the view stretches as far as Rocky Point (Clarendon) to the East and to Treasure Beach in the West. You will be reminded of how high you are standing when you notice birds, clouds and light aircraft flying below you!

The area consists of a cliff with a drop of approximately 1,600 feet. The legend associated with the site is that during the days of enslavement two young lovers used to meet secretly on the adjoining Yardley Chase Plantation. The owner wanted the female for himself and arranged to have her lover sold. Not wanting to be separated, the two hand in hand plunged to their death.

Treasure Beach

The Five Bays of Treasure Beach

Originally individual fishing villages these five bays are now collectively considered to be Treasure Beach.

The first of the bays you come to is

  • Fort Charles Bay - also known as Starve Gut Bay
  • then Billy's Bay
  • then Frenchman's Bay
  • then Calabash Bay
  • and finally Great Pedro Bay.

TOUR INCLUDES:  Round Trip transportation to both locations, admission fee to Lovers Leap, tour of Lover’s Leap lasts approximately two and a half hours, and you will spend a delightful two hours at one of Jamaica’s hidden gems, Treasure Beach.
